Overview

This role provides an opportunity for skilled tilers to work on a variety of residential and commercial projects across the Northern Territory, joining a team that values craftsmanship, safety, and reliability. What you'll do

  • Inspecting and preparing surfaces for tiling by cleaning, leveling, and smoothing them.

  • Applying waterproofing and moisture barriers where necessary

  • Cutting, shaping, and fitting tiles to cover walls, floors, ceilings, and other surfaces.

Applying adhesives, grout, and sealants to secure tiles in place and finish joints.

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and specifications to determine layout and design.

  • Planning the arrangement and positioning of tiles to achieve a uniform and aesthetically pleasing finish.

  • Selecting and ordering tiles, adhesives, grouts, and other materials needed for projects.

  • Ensuring the safe handling and storage of materials.

  • Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets required standards and specifications.

  • Making necessary adjustments and repairs to achieve a high-quality finish.

  • Estimating material quantities and project costs.

  • Managing time effectively to complete projects within deadlines.

  • Communicating with clients to understand their preferences and provide recommendations.

  • Addressing any questions or concerns clients may have throughout the project.

  • Follow health and safety regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.

  • Ensure work meets industry standards and client specifications.

  • Maintain and store tools and equipment properly.

  • Keep up to date with new tools and techniques to improve efficiency and quality of work.

  • Provide clients with guidance on how to maintain and care for tiled surfaces.

What you'll need

  • Certificate III in Wall & Floor Tiling (preferred) or minimum 3 years' demonstrated experience

  • Proven expertise in surface preparation, waterproofing and tiling techniques

  • Current White Card (Construction Induction Card)

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Reliable transport and current driver's licence

  • Physical capability to perform required tasks safely

  • Driver’s Licence and own transport. (transport negotiable)

  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol testing

  • Ability to obtain Working with Children’s Card & Police Check clearance.
