3+ years of experience in broadacre cropping and/or potato farming.
Strong competency in farm machinery operations and field work.
Experience with pivot irrigation and water scheduling.
ChemCert or AgSafe chemical handling certification (or willingness to obtain).
Sound mechanical knowledge for basic fault-finding and servicing.
Ability to work autonomously and within a team under seasonal pressures.
Livestock experience preferred but not essential.
Additional Requirements
Current Driver’s Licence required. Heavy Vehicle Licence (HR or HC) advantageous.
Willingness to work extended hours including weekends and early starts during peak periods.
Physically capable of performing manual tasks in outdoor conditions.
Cropping & Machinery Operation
Operate tractors, planters, sprayers, and harvesters for sowing, spraying, and harvesting crops.
Calibrate and maintain equipment to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Conduct pre-start checks, routine maintenance, and minor repairs on machinery.
Apply agricultural chemicals safely and in accordance with relevant compliance protocols.
Monitor soil conditions, crop health, and equipment performance, providing operational feedback.
Irrigation & Water Management
Operate and maintain pivot irrigation systems.
Troubleshoot issues with irrigation infrastructure (e.g. leaks, blockages).
Work with management to schedule and monitor water use and application timing.
General Farm Duties
Assist with general farm infrastructure maintenance including fencing, sheds, and farm tracks.
Provide support for livestock activities such as feeding, mustering, and basic animal care.
Maintain accurate records for machinery, chemical use, crop management, and water usage.
