Position: Heavy Diesel Mechanic (Wheel Alignment Specialist)

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic with specialised expertise in wheel alignment and suspension geometry to join a well-established heavy vehicle service provider in Adelaide. Our client has built a strong reputation for high-quality repairs, a robust safety culture, and technical leadership in the heavy vehicle sector.
In this role, you will be the go-to expert for diagnosing and correcting alignment issues on a wide range of heavy commercial vehicles, including trucks, trailers, buses, 4WDs, and caravans. While your primary focus will be on precision alignment, you will also support the workshop team with general heavy diesel mechanical duties.

Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in heavy diesel engines, transmissions, and drivetrains.
Perform advanced wheel alignment procedures using precision equipment (e.g., Hunter, TruckCam, Josam).
Conduct detailed pre-alignment inspections to identify wear or mechanical faults.
Inspect, repair, and replace steering and suspension components such as tie rods, kingpins, and control arms.
Test, tune, and adjust vehicles to ensure optimal performance and handling.
Maintain detailed records of all services, repairs, and diagnostic outcomes.
Ensure all work complies with roadworthiness, safety (WHS), and environmental standards.
Essential:
Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or an equivalent qualification).
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic.
Demonstrated hands-on experience in advanced wheel alignment techniques for heavy vehicles.
Familiarity with major alignment systems e.g., Hunter, TruckCam, or Josam.
An HR driver's licence, or the ability to obtain one.
Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset.
Desirable:
A valid Forklift licence.
WHS certification or exposure to Safe Work Australia practices.
Competitive Salary: An annual base salary of $75,000 - $90,000 AUD, based on experience.
Superannuation: An additional 11.5% of your salary is paid into a superannuation (retirement savings) fund, as per Australian law.
Annual Leave: You are entitled to 4 weeks (20 days) of paid annual leave per year.
