The position

We're on the lookout for a Cloud Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. Reporting into the Infrastructure and Security Manager, this role will work closely with members of the IT team and the wider business to build and support both our on-premises and cloud-based technology, as well as being a key contributor of to the operational IT support to the business. A key part of this role involves improving and maintaining technology in the AWS public cloud environment.

This position involves working on new and existing infrastructure projects and wider IT team projects to enhance our platform with new features and capabilities that will provide amazing experiences for our customers.

Your other responsibilities will include:

  • Build, engineer, support and be responsible for Public Cloud Infrastructure (AWS and a small amount of Azure) Management and Support

  • Deploy infrastructure as code

  • Support the implementation of IT Infrastructure as a part of the FY24 IT strategy

  • Support of the technology infrastructure across the business to ensure optimal performance and cost

  • Use your strong expertise in Cloud Engineering to enhance our AWS and Azure Infrastructure

  • Providing advice to the business on matters concerning cloud technology

  • DevOps process development and best practice

  • Provide technical support and resolution of IT related requests/ incidents at Level 3

  • Assist with the preventative maintenance program and assist in the maintenance of Workstation and Server infrastructure

  • On-Premises/ Private Cloud Server & Infrastructure management and support

  • Maintain and create required documentation and knowledgebase articles

  • Work with vendors and stakeholders to build and maintain our platform

  • Support the confidentiality, integrity and availability of business assets, information, data and IT services through clearly defined processes and standards

  • System scripting to accelerate and automate the delivery of IT services to the business

  • Participate in the On-Call Roster and shift-based cover for the Service Desk

The successful candidate

Here's some of the things we'd like you to bring:

  • Demonstrated experience deploying and managing public cloud environments (AWS)

  • Strong experience with managing project and agile tracking and system scripting to accelerate and automate the delivery of IT services to the business

  • Familiarity with core DevOps principles, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.

  • In-depth knowledge of core AWS concepts and services.

  • Computer IP network and Server Infrastructure concepts including LAN, WAN, Group Policy, AD, DNS, IIS, DHCP

  • User and computer management via Active Directory and federation services;

  • Experience in knowledge base tools such as JIRA and Confluence.

  • Proven experience operating in a Service Desk Environment, maintaining desktop and server environments for Medium Size businesses

  • Tertiary qualifications in IT related fields/ equivalent industry certifications would be highly desirable
